I recently stayed at The Little Italy Hotel Downtown San Diego, and while I appreciated the hotel's proximity to local attractions and the great views from some rooms, my experience was marred by some disappointing aspects. The service felt inconsistent, and there were moments where the staff's response didn't meet expectations, contrasting sharply with the warm greetings I had received at other locations. Additionally, I faced some issues concerning the cleanliness of the facilities and reliability of the Wi-Fi, which could benefit from improvement.

Rooms
6.0
The room I ended up with was clean but lacked the comfort I would expect for a hotel stay. While it was spacious and quiet enough for a decent night's sleep, it felt outdated and could use some investment for modernization.
Service
5.0
Service was a mixed bag; the front desk staff was friendly at times, but I encountered some rude interactions that left me feeling uncomfortable. Notably, I found the response to my concerns less than satisfactory and lacking in genuine care.
Location
8.0
The location is definitely a highlight. I loved being close to Little Italy with its charming cafes and restaurants, making it easy to explore without needing a car. This aspect truly enhanced my stay.
Dining
5.0
I had a couple of meals at the hotel breakfast, and while the options were convenient, the quality was underwhelming. Some items tasted cold and unappealing, detracting from an otherwise pleasant morning.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel generally maintained a clean environment, but signs of wear were apparent. The Wi-Fi access was inconsistent during my stay, which was frustrating. The absence of more vibrant facilities like a gym or a pool also contributed to a less fulfilling experience.

6.0/10

I had an okay stay at The Little Italy Hotel. the location is fantastic, just a couple of blocks from Little Italy and a lively Farmer's Market is nearby. However, I found the hotel itself outdated with some maintenance issues that could really use attention. The breakfast options were disappointing, especially for a Hilton hotel. It's not the worst experience, but I'd consider other hotels in the future.

Rooms
5.0
The room was standard but felt outdated with water stains and a lack of fridge. I did enjoy the balcony view, though it wasn’t as nice due to the noisy neighbors.
Service
5.0
The front desk staff were friendly and responsive, especially when I reported issues. They provided nice touches like complimentary water bottles, but overall, I felt the service could have matched better with the hotel's standards.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is bright. close to Little Italy for great dining options and a 10-minute walk to the Gaslamp District. I really appreciated the centrality during my trip.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast offerings were not up to par. while I appreciate having options, paying extra for toast and cold cereal is not typical for Hilton. The limited on-site dining made it less appealing.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel’s amenities felt lacking. no pool or gym, and the parking was a bit confusing. The construction outside also made accessing the car frustrating.

5.6/10

I had a mixed experience at The Little Italy Hotel in Downtown San Diego. The location was fantastic, allowing easy access to nearby attractions, especially the vibrant Little Italy. However, my initial check-in experience was disappointing due to a lack of warmth from the front desk staff. While some staff were friendly, there were inconsistencies that affected my overall impression. Additionally, the parking facility could be tricky, especially for larger vehicles.

Rooms
6.0
I was pleased with the comfort of the bed, but the room felt a bit outdated. I appreciated the balcony view on the higher floor, but some areas showed wear and tear.
Service
5.0
I encountered mixed service levels. Sunny at the front desk truly made my day with his friendliness and helpfulness, while others lacked warmth. My check-in experience could have been smoother.
Location
8.0
The hotel's proximity to Little Italy and other attractions was a highlight, making it easy to explore without needing a car.
Dining
5.0
While the breakfast options were decent, the selection was somewhat limited, and I expected more variety based on my past experiences at other hotels.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had some essential facilities, but the parking was a challenge, and the elevators operated slowly during peak times, which was frustrating.

I recently stayed at The Little Italy Hotel and while the location was undeniably perfect for exploring downtown, I faced several issues during my stay. The service left much to be desired, with some staff members quite unhelpful at times. Additionally, the cleanliness of my room wasn't up to par, which was disappointing for a hotel under the Hilton brand. Overall, it was a mixed experience that I wouldn't highly recommend.

Rooms
5.0
The cleanliness of my room was not up to expectations as I found the bathroom to be less than clean. There was also a broken window in my room, and I noted the absence of a refrigerator, which I would have found useful.
Service
5.0
The service from the front desk staff was frustrating at times. I encountered unhelpfulness from employees and waited far too long for resolutions to simple requests, like getting a new remote for my TV.
Location
7.0
You really can't beat the hotel's location near Little Italy. It made it so easy for me to walk to various attractions. However, I didn't feel completely safe at night due to sights of homelessness.
Dining
5.0
I found the on-site dining options to be quite mediocre. The breakfast was limited and I was a bit disappointed by the lack of variety, not what I would expect from a Hilton hotel.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were generally decent, though I faced challenges with the Wi-Fi access, which was inconsistent. Also, the parking situation was tricky, especially for larger vehicles.

5.8/10

Overall, my stay at The Little Italy Hotel Downtown San Diego was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, making it easy to explore Little Italy and nearby attractions. However, my check-in experience was quite disappointing and left a sour impression. While the room was comfortable, it lacked some amenities I expected from a Hilton hotel, and I encountered minor maintenance issues during my stay.

Rooms
6.0
The room had a nice city view and was largely clean, but it only offered double beds instead of queens and lacked a microwave and fridge. There were some issues with lightbulbs and the bathroom showed signs of wear.
Service
5.0
The front desk service during check-in was lacking, with the staff appearing annoyed at my requests, and I wasn’t offered any amenities typically provided to Hilton Honors members.
Location
9.0
The hotel is in a prime location, just a short walk to Little Italy, the docks, and the tram for easy access to other parts of San Diego. This made it convenient for both sightseeing and dining.
Dining
5.0
While there are dining options available nearby, I was disappointed by the breakfast offerings at the hotel. They were limited in variety and quality, not what I typically expect from a Hilton hotel.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had a few amenities, including a free airport shuttle, but the business center was not functioning well, and I found the Wi-Fi to be unreliable during my stay.
